Poolewe has all the requirements for a great holiday visit - beautiful scenery, mountains including several nearby munros, Loch Maree and the Beinn Eighe nature reserve. Along the coast from Poolewe on Loch Ewe are small hamlets and crofting areas, harbours and fishing boats.
The beach at Firemore near Cove is great for kids, dogs and adults of all ages, and is easily accessible from the main road. Also nearby is Gruinard Bay with its lovely sandy beach that stretches for what seems miles when the tide is out. Safe and reasonably warm to swim in during the summer.

Poolewe typifies a small highland village and with its backdrop of outstanding natural scenery is one of the prettiest villages in the Scottish Highlands. Poolewe has a small local shop that will supply you with most of the your food requirements while on holiday as well as providing Post Office services. The village has a tearoom and hotel restaurants with bar meals that provide an excellent range of snacks and meals.
Nearby is the world famous Inverewe Garden which has a restaurant and gift shop along with the wonderful gardens. To explore the gardens plan for at least half a day or longer and is run by The National Trust for Scotland. Trust members get free access to the gardens.
The natural scenery around Poolewe is some of the best in Scotland with beautiful mountain and coastal scenery around the area.
