Mellon Udrigle is a small crofting hamlet overlooking Gruinard Bay in Wester Ross. It is a short drive along a single-track road towards Opinan from Laide. The scenery is wonderful in this area, in our view some of the best in the Scottish Highlands. The lovely sandy beach at Mellon Udrigle is a worthy destination for anyone following the North Coast 500 route, or for persons lucky to be staying locally.
The vistas of the surrounding mountains viewed over the sea gives this area a very special atmosphere, it is truly wonderful at all times of the year, while in summer it is outstanding due to the quality of the light, sunshine on the water and the sunsets. The beach has a small car park nearby and is suitable for windsurfing, canoeing, sailing, and swimming along with sea fishing, or just relaxing and enjoying the surrounding scenery. Kids love this beach.
