Dundonnell is a small community located at the head of Little Loch Broom, 26 miles south from Ullapool and 12 miles from Corrieshalloch Gorge National Nature Reserve.

Dundonnell has the impressive An Teallach mountain range to the south- west and this area is well known for outstanding hill walking opportunities as the area covers a large uninhabited area, very popular for hill walking and climbing.

The Dundonnell Mountain Rescue Team is based at Dundonnell and is made up of volunteers, helping rescue people who get in trouble in the mountains throughout this area.

If you love gardens then Dundonnell House is a member of the Scotland's Gardens Scheme with the garden being open to the public on specific dates throughout the year, or by appointment.

From Dundonnell you can take the single track road to explore the south side of Little Loch Broom at Badrallach and for the very fit and adventurous walk along the track to the Scoraig Peninsula.

The area does have a diverse range of wildlife as well as wild goats that live in the mountains around Dundonnell. In winter and spring you may see these goat near the road side, they are a joy to watch.
