Discover the Scottish Highlands at Camusnagaul
Scotland, especially the Scottish Highlands in the autumn is an experience you will love, the colours change, it is peaceful and you honestly feel you have the Highlands to yourself (along with a few sheep and red deer).
Of course we love visitors and we hope you visit. Secretly this is the time we love the Highlands most as we do not have to share it with anyone else - and it just makes the place feel even more special to us and other people who love Scotland.
At Camusnagaul we have a wide range of holiday accommodation from the Dundonnell hotel 3 miles away to our two holiday cottages, our first class highland bothy and hostel and our wonderfully friendly bed and breakfast accommodation.
Of course for the hardy ones we have nearby campsites and our own two caravans for rent.
Book our holiday cottages in the autumn and winter at low rates.
The view above is typical of the many valleys and mountains in Scotland. The Scottish Highlands has many areas where you can walk safely for long distances, or take a more challenging climb up the munros, mountains over 3,000 feet, that are in abundance around the Wester Ross area on the north west coast of Scotland.

Below is a picture of Gairloch Golf Course
Not everyone wants to spend the day walking over clean sandy and empty beaches, or walking for miles without meeting anyone, it just might be too peaceful for you. Well nearby at Ullapool and also at Gairloch we have lovely small golf courses where you can play golf at a reasonable day rate. The Gairloch Golf Course also has a nice cafe where you will find good hot food. In Ullapool you are spoilt for choice for eating out, there are a number of small cafes or more up market hotels serving seafood and good Scottish cooking. Our own Tea Room closes down for the winter - however, we will make a occasional exceptions especially if you are up in a small group and want a special dinner made for an evening. Please give us plenty of notice so that we can get fresh Scottish Smoked Salmon or your other favourites in for just for you, and of course we are licensed and if you stay locally you don't need to worry about drinking and driving!
|Hillwalking in Scotland must be one of the best things one can do when visiting Scotland, and in the autumn it is cooler and often very pleasant to walk on the many hill tracks that are available. Remember to bring suitable clothing for colder and wet weather as well as proper walking boots. A favourite saying is "trying to tell ma granny how to suck eggs" and I hope you do not think we are being condescending mentioning about the proper foot ware and clothes for hillwalking in Scotland as it can get pretty treacherous even in early autumn months of September and October.||
Walk along the River Gruinard towards Fisherfield
